Ndovu Villas (“we”, “us”) runs this website and the villas at Turtle Bay, Temple Road, Watamu, Kenya. This page explains what we do with the details you send us, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
1. What we collect
When you send a booking request or a message: your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), the villa and dates you are asking about, the number of guests, and anything you write to us.
When you tap the WhatsApp button, the chat happens inside WhatsApp, under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy. We see the number and messages you send us.
Anonymous measurements of how the site performs and which buttons are used: page speed, the page address, the type of device (phone or computer), the type of connection, and counts of taps on buttons such as “Check availability”. These do not include your name, email or phone number.
2. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you availability and rates.
- To manage a booking if you decide to stay with us.
- To keep the website working, fast and secure, and to improve it.
We do not sell your details, and we do not use them for advertising by other companies.
3. Cookies and similar storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may keep a small note for the length of your visit so the welcome screen is not shown twice. Our security and delivery provider may set a cookie that protects the site from automated abuse.
4. Who can see it
The people at Ndovu Villas who answer enquiries and manage bookings.
Companies that help us run the site and reach you, and only for that purpose: our web hosting provider, our delivery and security provider (Cloudflare), and the messaging or email service we use to alert our team to a new enquiry.
Anyone the law requires us to tell.
5. Where it is kept and for how long
Enquiries are stored on our website’s server and in the alerts our team receives. We keep them for as long as we need to answer you and to keep a record of bookings and payments, and delete them when they are no longer needed or when you ask us to.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the details we hold about you, correct them, delete them, or stop using them. Write to the contact details below and we will answer within a reasonable time.
If you are not happy with how we handled your details, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.
7. Changes
If we change how we use your details we will update this page and the date at the top.
